Newfoundland Dog Books - Recommended Reading

There are many good books on Newfoundlad Dogs.  I will post a few of the books that have and were recommended to me during my decision days (there really was no decision to be made for me, ha! ha!) of wanting to become a Newfie owner.  Each book adds a little bit of information, and of course those great pictures, one never tires of looking at Newfie pictures!

The first book I will list is REQUIRED READINGThis book is called The Newfoundland puppy:  Early care, early training, by Judi Adler.  As far as I know, it is only available directly from Judi at Sweetbay.com.  If you only buy one book when getting a Newf puppy, make sure it is this one!   It is paperback and in black and white, but is by far the most informative Newfoundland Dog Puppy book I have ever seen.

The Newfoundland Gentle Giant by Jo Ann Riley is another good book, also a paperback, it has lots of good photos and gives good information on everythings from the history of the Newfoundland to the raising, grooming, dealing with your elderly Newf and also information on The Newfoundland Club of America.

Newfoundland Today (Book of the Breed S) is another book that I like.  It is a hardcover and has lots of great color photos, good health information and a more extensive information on the lineage of some of the great Newfoundlands and their kennels.  The grooming section is very informative with good photos too.

Like I said in the beginning, these are all good books and there are a few more out there I am sure.  These are just a few of my favorites.
