It's A Parade!!
The first Saturday of December marks the annual St Augustine Florida Christmas Parade. For many years now the Newfoundland Club of Florida makes a huge showing, and plays a major roll in this parade. Newfs gather from all across the state to walk, ride, and pull carts in this parade. As many as 50 Newfoundland Dogs can be seen, many in festive holiday attire walking in the parade. Some of the younger and older dogs get to ride in a trolley, while others may pull their holiday cart. What an awesome sight this is! The parade routes itself through the heart of the historic district. This years parade is Saturday, December 3, (2011). Parade begins at 10:00 am. For all of you Newfie lovers within driving distance of the beautiful historical city of St Augustine, you won't be disappointed! The Newfoundland Club has activities for members starting Friday afternoon and lasting through midday Sunday.
